About The Boatshop
The Boatshop was founded in 2016 by local boatbuilder, Nate Piper, as a way to reconnect to the Seacoast region’s rich maritime history through hands-on boatbuilding.
Over the years, The Boatshop has partnered with area nonprofits and schools to provide dynamic educational and skill-building opportunities for people of all ages.
The continued enthusiasm of parents, campers and Boatshop visitors alike has reinforced our belief that small boats—and the stories they can tell us about our region—matter.
Once housed on the grounds of Strawbery Banke Museum, The Boatshop has always been more than a physical location. It is a framework for identifying projects and bringing together partners who want to highlight and celebrate the Seacoast region's maritime heritage.
